wedding dresses have always seemed kind of strange to me--mostly because i find them in extremely poor taste/hideously ugly. it doesn't help that i look bad in white because it just sort of washes out my skin tone and makes me look sickly, but the whole 'blindingly white' look? oy. it all seems to harken back to the notion of whiteness as metaphore for purity aka virginity, so the bride's dress has to be as white as possible... personally, standing up before a bunch of people (including my parents) in any outfit that displays my virginal status seems kind of weird.

And tall, pale-skinned, geeky tech support guys simply can *not* pull off sheer white shirts, no matter how long they've been your friends. XD

*laughs* My soon to be husband is Filipino and will be wearing his barong tagalog along with his brother. Thankfully there is no issue of anglo groomsmen for us...which is really in it's own right all for the good, because I rather like how the shirt looks on Rey. *grins*
