Yup.

April Fool's Day - and too busy trying to think up my own trick, and walked right into one this morning when I came into the office.

And Narendra...that sweet, nice, nevereverliestome Narendra...helped.

So I tried to spread the misery around and called Jim at work.

No dice. Was on it like white on rice and laughed at me for being so gullible.

But honest, who could blame me?

The boss was retiring and moving to Thailand. Who wouldn't, if they could?

(He's not. *whew*)

We had two people leaving early today, so my boss and his boss teamed together and sent out an email that said the quarterly auditors had found a glaring internal controls issue in my department, and the big bosses from Beverly Hills were conference calling in to discuss it. "Unfortunately," the email said, "since this involves all properties, attendance is mandatory for everyone."

They had EVERYONE going but me, and I only wasn't freaked out because I missed the whole thing, having gone to get lunch, and arriving back just in time for the big boss to say "April Fools."
