*snort* He's STILL unimpressed?!

Typical. *wry*

I just wonder whether there will be a larger one than the 5's we have been getting in a bit. I mean, SoCal is due for a big shaker...

But then, what do I know? *wry*

Well, there was the 7.something off shore. But it is earthquake season, so you never know. :)

Watch for...

I predict right now, a 6.5 in Pasadena within 30 days. Then he'll be impressed.

Couldn't be better - just like a big truck driving by. NOTHING to worry about.

Hmm wonder if those will rattle our faults; hope not.
*secures cupboards anyway* :)

Missed another....one of these days we'll have a good one here in Detroit. Best I've felt so far barely rattled doors in their frames. I missed the 89 quake in SF by a week.

I would be too...

5.3 is the garbage truck using our driveway to back up.

Me, too! Now, if bridges don't collapse, I count it as all in a day's rumblings.

As for everyone who freaks on the concept of an earthquake...

My explanation: (Having lived on the southeastern coast) I'd much rather live where the earth moves beneath my feet than have something (hurricane or tornado) pick me up and throw me somewhere else. Per my dad: free roller coaster rides, wee!

Is my Cali nativeness showing, much? ;P

I would MUCH rather have an earthquake like this, than say, a hurricane like Andrew or his ilk.

Earthquakes, unless they break a line, are very "dry" events - a hurricane whips everything into a lather, and when it's over, you add heat. Oh, and the roads are completely impassible and there's nowhere to land a helicopter.

Earthquake over anything else. Absolutely.

See that big empty space in the middle of state where there aren't any of dark brown fault lines? That's where I hope we move. :-)

Hehe. Trading earthquakes for dust... hmmm... nope. LOL. We're hoping to head for Sonora County. My folks live up there and could use some help but it is beautiful countryside, so there are a lot of pluses. :-D

Just be aware that there are still lots of small fault lines running around that the map doesn't show - the one that triggered the Northridge quake? Not even on the map -
