I don't trust any proposition sponsered by a drug company. No on 78.

Trying to do a good thing here, and I even did my LJ over in a Breast Cancer Awareness theme for the occasion.

Thanks. {{HUGS}}

It is a very solid propisition, however I would always be wary when you introduce even more government. If I lived in Cali, I would probably vote against it. Reasons being is because it creates more government, can't qurntee they can get drug companies to charge system for less (only if they are the only ones making a certain drug, can be difficult to enforce), only offered to a minority of Californians, and it is probably going to overlapped with other state and federal programs that currently exist.

What I see here is basically a subsidize RX drug plan for the poor, paid for by the California Tax Payers; who most will place out of the program.

Personally, if California wants to have Socialized Medicine, then it shouldn't go half-way. The system will only work if it goes all the way, that every resident in California (maybe only too legal residents though) automatically gets the State RX plan and companies can discontinue there programs for employees; that way the money companies and employees save would go into the taxes it will take to fund such a program. That, I see, is the only fair system to do.

I understand, but if you could mention it in your LJ at least and direct others to that page, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks. {{HUGS}}

You know, I'd be wary of either one of them - but this is the very beginning of the process, and in California, we have a long history of two ballot measures for the same issue being presented at the same time. And frankly? He with the best funding wins.

We do have socialized medicine in California - we take Medicaid and fund Medi-Cal with it, plus some more kicked in from usn's - and then there's the Major Risk Medical that anyone can qualify for (costs a mint, but you can get it) - that we tax the smokers for.

You know, after seeing the wonderful response a smaller government had to a natural disaster this month? Larger government isn't a bad thing. At least large enough to do the job we pay taxes for, yanno?

Enforcement. Don't make me laugh. That's my largest beef with most of the issues of the day. Okay, it's now illegal. How do you plan on enforcing that, sir?
