I've installed a Radeon 9200 video card in my PC, and life is thus good.

It works, it works perfectly - and I've already updated the drivers and I did it in one pass. Touch me, I'm golden.

Love it when something this simple, remains this simple.

Geek is me. Hooray!

Do you need another computer? I have most of the makings of one... it just needs a new mother board, new memory (or just use the 128MB that is there already), and a monitor.

I do not know what to do with it otherwise.

Hm. Go ask [livejournal.com profile] elfwench - she seems to be more inclined right now. And needs a pick me up, poor thing.

Me? No. Truthfully. I could use a new laptop, but I'm doing just fine without the extra gear right now. (But thanks for asking.)

This guy rewrote the drivers, and I have found them to be better written with more features than the radeon ones...

Just thought you would like to know...

Man, this is working so well, I don't want to jinx it...but I'll take it under advisement!

*is jealous* A new vid card and more RAM are fighting for the #1 spot on the "next upgrade" list. Though, I'm tempted to just wait until I get a new mobo and case.

I did exceptionally well with eBay. $30, shipping included. Brand-new, and so far, nothing that wasn't handled with a driver upgrade. It works better than I could have hoped.

Uh, got it for the PC. That, and all the expansion packs. Uh, that's what drove the new video card purchase. Without it, it was just about unplayable.

For some reason I was under the impression you just had the original for Mac. I don't know why.

I got profoundly irked that everything was for the PC, with all the expansion packs. That, and Jim couldn't play the game - so I got a second full install for it.

Then found out it lagged like whoa with the old video drivers. Hence, the new card.
