You ought to see all the little weather bug warnings I'm having to put up with - WATER WATER WATER AUUUUUGH!

Please. Boss told all of us about this on Friday.

Jim's back at work today - anyone want to make book on how much of his exams are TA related today?

Me? Housework, laundry and so forth day - getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. Ain't that special.

My neck of the woods? Wet. Windy. Not much more. You don't want to be out in the yuck, and it's colder than we're rated for on a normal day - but it's hardly something to write home about.

Sorry about your weather! Saw it yesterday when I confirmed the existence of yet another Atlantic hurricane. Guess I'll break out my copy of Day After Tomorrow and look for survival tips in the movie!

Hee. Tropical Storm Zeta. I keep telling people, we're going to start naming hurricanes after frat houses.

Water good. Got live tree out of the house yesterday morning, so it's gotten all the benefit of the rain yesterday and today.

Of course, it's toppled like a drunken sailor, but who's asking?

Water water everywhere

My mother told me the town of Napa was under about three inches of water, that Highway 101 had been closed in places (probably in the Bay Area or the North Bay and Sonoma County, if she's hearing about it as a traffic warning), and that I-80 had been closed somewhere between Sacramento and the Bay Area. Hadn't heard about anything similar in SoCal.

We have had flood warnings and, most recently, daily flood statements for the Kitsap Peninsula. It's because the Skokomish River is flooding again, which is playing havoc with parts of 101 up here (same highway), flooding pasturelands and other lowlands, and not affecting us a bit. We're well away from the Sko and its yearly floods.

And the only place you never have to worry about creek flooding is at the headwaters, which is where we are sited with respect to the creek that crosses our land, so no worries there either.

TA? I'm parsing that as "teaching assistant", which can't be right...

Traffic Accident.

No doubt about it; NorCal is likely getting bitch-smacked. I was hearing about flooding before this storm ever came ashore last week -

You just don't want to be out in it, that's for certain.

Hey, have you ever heard of a show called Extreme Home Makeover (ABC reality-based tee-wee show)? They did one up there for a family named Dore - saw the Kitsap FD and thought of you immediately!

Actually the number was...

ZIP ZERO NADA...

I guess people had enough sense to stay home and watch the football games.

Oh good. No TAs.

As for me, the only reason I left the house was the go get something to eat because I'm too lazy to cook.

We lost power here for a little while (10 minutes) but got it back.

I think I'm ready to go back to work, but I want a new job anyway. *wry*

Happy New Year
