Thanks for the offer, but I'm pretty settled here and am happy with my current job. I just wish this one had come up a couple of years ago when I was on the search for really reals.

Mostly it's one of those CURSE THE TIMING OF THIS POSITION things.

The irony? I temped for them... about 10 years ago.

Think I should try to go back?

Darn. The one accountant I know is moving out of Seattle, but to the Bay, not LA... no, wait. I do know somebody that might want it. Thanks for the tip.

Alas, I spoke too soon; the blurb said Seattle and LA, and I thought the job was going to be in Seattle.... for reasons best left unspoken, he's kinda tethered to the Pacific Northwet... happily so, but...

There's something vaguely ironic about going off to a video game company! to do accounting...

Sure, I understand that they need those sorts of people just like any other company, but it still seems kinda amusing.

I know right? I'm an accountant, and when I tell people that I play video games AND do theater, you would not BELIEVE the looks I get.

Even my college advisor was all, "Is this some bizarre right brain/left brain thing?"

They're looking for a game tester, too, which is right up my alley. Too bad the gig's in LA, not here, or my resume would already be winging its way to them on the ether.

Hmm... pity I don't have the experience, otherwise I'd seriously consider it. On the flip side, I've not been so thrilled with their lack of innovation over the past few years, what with all the sequels they've been churning out and all.
