There are comparatively few foods I won't try at least once. That's one of them.

Um... No thanks... (Yes, I confess, I had to look it up... I wish I hadn't. :P )

Yeah, well, bait sushi is fine with a little soy sauce. Still don't see what you see in boiling the hell out of a perfectly crunchy treat.... :) :) :)

It's a horrifying concept that is apparently considered "food" and "a delicacy" in my home culture. I'm a Filipino-born Filipino, I grew up with the stuff around me, and I think it's squicky.

Balut and Bagoong (If I spelled it correctly) are just NASTY. Is it any wonder why I see it pop up on Fear Factor as a challenge food to eat ever so often?

Huh, interesting. Not sure if I'd eat it all the time, but it doesn't sound any more unpleasant than many other foods I've tried and managed to enjoy.

Okay, this is one of those "try just to say I did" and likely never try again.

I mean, if I have tried and liked the preserved duck eggs (I prefer the whites to the yolk)... why not.

Although there have been other foods that fall into the balut category to.

Egg whites should *not* have feathers in them.

Also, you need to call Jim tonight - he had nightmares last night and is sure you're upset with him. (He's still not completely square with not being out for Gallie this weekend, methinks.)

I knew what Balut was.

But I had made a point of forgetting, because the concept just grossed me out too much. So I had to look it up again.

Eew!

Thank you. Have a nice day.

Why would they bring that into the office?! T_T

Heh heh heh!

Balut is one of those things I managed to avoid while living in Hawaii and travelling overseas. To be honest, I think I'd rather eat fried locusts.
