And Voltron.

Oh very much so! The best (that I have tried and also told) honey to use is pure unfiltered/pasturized "clover honey"! Very good stuff...but alas VERY expensive once you find a supplier. Last I heard (and this has been oh.....5 or 6 years ago) it was like $7.00 a pound! If memory serves it takes like 4 or 5 pounds for 2 or 3 bottles of mead. This was the stuff given to us for our wedding day! TWO bottles of it! So smooooooth! lol And sweet....and snuck up on you and put you on your ass! lol

*chuckle* Owch... Fortunately, I live near an open air market so I might be able to find suppliers at a slightly cheaper rate than that, but one can only hope. *grin*

Not to burst your bubble.....but I live in Indiana! Shit I drive for more than 20 minutes in any direction I am in the middle of farm land and farms!

When I was younger (grew up half hour from where I am now) we would run around as teens in a buddies car, if we got hungry and were broke we would pull over and grab some raw corn or tomatoes right off the vines in a farmers field and eat it. Yes raw corn on the cob!lol But we were healthy too. All big "farm boy" types. When I was 15 I stood 5'11" and weighed in at 285! The wrestling coach loved me! lol

*grin* I'll bet he did... If I'd stayed in public schooling, I'd have probably followed a similar path. (never much cared for team related sports) However, you're probably right. I'm trying to remember the latest estimates I got in terms of prices but come to think of it, I believe they were even higher than what you were quoting. Bah humbug. Need a better job to afford the tasty drinks. *chuckle*

I agree on all counts. The warehouse where I work just built a new building and in the next month or so the moving process will begin. Man the over time pay will be great but it just might kill me! lol I work for one of the biggest printer/scanner makers there is and we handle nearly all of North America, Mexico, Central America and South America! We have to do this move over about 3 months WHILE keeping business going as usual. Right now I am staring down the barrle of 7 day work weeks and 10-14 hour days during that time. So when the move is all over I am going to collapse for half a day and then take care of some things that I have always wanted to do...l.including making mead! Yep I am going to give it a shot!

Speaking of work.....tis late here now and work time comes way too early as I already work in the department that has the most overtime! lol So off to bed with me.

Wow... and I thought I'd had it bad with the flying storms from up above at my job... Good luck getting through all that, and enjoy the well deserved pay.
