Oh, this makes more sense -
May. 5th, 2006 07:50 amYou remember that Friends of Lulu fundraiser to kick off that new fund to prosecute assaults against women? Yeah, the one auctioning Sin City stuff. *facepalms*
This makes a whole lot more sense to me - from
theferrett, of course.
3) In the middle of a depression, it's satisfying to have a bunch of good friends over to help you out. Part of my technique for fighting my SADs is logic, wherein I try to beat down silly emotions with the club of "That's not real! You have worth! You have friends!" When seven people show up, that's the sort of hard proof that makes biochemical additives slink away in shame... At least for a little while. Thanks, guys.
4) In case you're wondering why I'm doing all of this cooking, it's for Real Men Cook, a local Cleveland event wherein about eighty men cook up their favorite dish for about a thousand people. Each of those thousand people pays about $15.00 to come in and sample the dishes from Cleveland's Finest Cooks (and a Ferrett), and the money goes to a women's shelter.
It's a very cool event with a lot of friendly guys, and as you sample the dishes you vote for the best in each category. No, I've never come close with my Apple Crisp; I've come in second, but first is a smiling, jovial guy with a banana creme-and-cookies pudding that's to die for. Last event, I think I got like forty votes and he got four hundred.
I like Ferrett deMetz. Lots.
