President Carter wins the Nobel Peace Prize.

The official 2002 text says: "In a situation currently marked by threats of the use of power, Carter has stood by the principles that conflicts must as far as possible be resolved through mediation and international cooperation based on international law, respect for human rights and economic development."

I'm proud this man was my President.

Feh. Ever since they gave one to Yassir Arafat, I can't give that award any merit, whether or not its recipient deserves it.

One could wish for better, true.

But the article itself is interesting - talk about using a non-partisan platform to play politics.

i love jimmy. i want him to be our president again. and forever. he is good and moral, and yet, a politician. that combination is awfully hard to come by.
