It is our conviction that all United Nations resolutions must be implemented in a consistent and meaningful way. We must add that we find it hypocritical that Iraq is threatened with war and destruction for failing to comply with UN resolutions while another state in the same region is in violation of about seventy UN resolutions which have never been implemented. This continues to be a reality even as this state occupies land that does not belong to it, illegally expands and builds settlements on occupied territories and implements collective punishment on masses of innocent people because of the distorted actions of a few.

Which state in particular?

Sharon is an ass, but Israel ain't even close to the same boat as Iraq.

The Economist has an
article about this. They do not idly stand behind Israel, and back it.

Sorry, this is a personal hot-button of mine. Sharon is an ass. Israel is VERY screwed up, and its dealings with the Palestinians have been desipicable. However so have the dealings from the side of the Palestinians.

I don't think it was Israel right or wrong here, but the whole emphasis on Iraq not obeying UN resolutions...and while they did not state who it was, it could easily be either Palestine or Israel...over 70 resolutions never given any hope of implementation.

We'll go to war over this with Iraq - anyone else? Fergit about it.
