I think it has to do with how many people make you their "hub" - I have friends in common with you, and the number determines how big your name appears.

A lot of the AMV'ers I knew over at the org and came over to LJ look like you.

Been to Baycon, on the fringes. Back in 1996, I came up and did an AnimeAmerica con (back back before AX), and we shared staff and materials (Hospitality was using all of Baycon's stored cookware, for example) with them.

Not to misuse the "swinging the dead cat" analogy, but you can't travel in any kind of fannish circle in the Bay Area and not know about Baycon.
