Hot.

How hot?

Try 91 indoors, 104 outdoors - last night at 8:30 PM.

Am I social at that temperature? No.

Am I even capable of intelligence at that temperature? Shit, even I know better. I grew up with heat like this.

Do I ever BOTHER complaining about it?

C'mon.

I got out the wet washrag, threw on the shorts and t-shirt and let evaporation do its bit - but that only goes so far. Sooner or later, you just stop moving around much and stay where you can find any kind of comfort. Drink a lot of water and hope it cools off soon.

Yeah, I remember days like this, growing up. Thing is - back then, I could sleep in the afternoon and have a life when the sun went down.

Anza was hot and still is hot, like 107 inthe shade. It just drains me.

Heh, well, look at it this way.. It could still be worse..

At my place, yesterday: 115 in the shade. And thanks to the wonderful thermal properties of my current abode: 108 indoors.

And then the power went out.

Only 106 right now.
Power has not gone off. Yet.
They keep threatening it.

I have a friend in the Middle East who says that it over 50 degrees celcius there (that's about 121 degrees Farenheit). She says door knobs burn you even when you try the door from the inside, and your shoe soles melt on asphalt.

And the government won't give out a heat warning because people are legally allowed to stop work and school and everything else if it gets to 50 degrees. So the official temperature is always 49.

That surprises me not at all. One of my guys worked UAE and Bahrain before coming to the US, and that jives with his history. And a fellow I worked with in Switzerland? Also worked in Saudi once.

Yes, it jives. Sheesh.
