1. The proper term for sexual attraction to a teenager is 'ephebophilia' or more rarely, 'hebophilia'. Neither term is even in the DSM IV because they are not considered psychiatric disorders.

In other words, ephobiliacs are considered 'normal' in the psychiatric literature.

If we went around trying to put every man who lusted after a 17 yr old female in a psychiatric ward, we'd have to lock up almost half the country.



2. We aren't discussing law, we're discussing pedophilia, which is a psychiatric term with a very specific definition, part of which is that the 'child' must be below the age of puberty/13.

As for what the law says, please read up on the age of consent laws, since we are discussing matters of sex, not voting. They vary from state to state, and most of them are not set at 18.
