Yo - you know one of the things they tell you in class when you're getting ready to adopt?

They tell you to start collecting "adoption" stories to keep around the house. Think about it - how many of your favorite children's books and media are adoption stories? Superman is a gimme.

You know I have to put Heroes up there on the shelf now. You watched it last night. You know why. *grins*

As good as that show is though? It just keeps reminding me of how much I miss Quantum Leap.

(Also, anime is FULL of adoption themes. Shall I name a few for you?)

One of my friends has had a very successful adoption, and has all sorts of resources!!

Would you like her contact info?

She is something of a "goodwill ambassador" in her area for people considering foster care adoptions.

Lucky her - we went that route for the first two years of our adoption journey and got essentially nothing for it. Oh, except two years and about three grand in the hole.

I'm glad for her - and I'm sure we can share resources!

oh and O.M.G. Heroes was good last night.

I am pretty sure that Lost will never come close again.

I hated the father until last night's episode. Love a show that makes you totally flip about a character. I'm just worried with all the plot they are revealing how long they can keep up with revealing this stuff?

You better believe that Mere was watching with keen interest last night, though I had to walk her through a few of the flashbacks with the TiVo going back and forth. When the dad was explaining to Claire about being adopted and whatnot, someone was snuggling very very closer to me.

She just couldn't imagine someone holding out that long on a kid that they were adopted.

As you can imagine, THE PARENT TRAP is a big draw here.

Heroes was awesome last night.

Also, if you miss Quantum Leap, have you seen Battlestar Galactica? Did you know that Al is one of the Cylons?

Yes, and while I'm terribly glad to see Dean Stockwell working again - I still miss my show.

Also, is it just me or has Dean aged remarkably well? He doesn't look a day older than he did (or as I remember him) 15 years ago.

Heroes LOVE. That's all I have to say. I ended last night's episode in a big pile of wubble, weeble goo.
