I expect a long hot summer with a lot of smoke out where I live. I got my defensible space already and will do a bit more clearing on some adjacent parcels if I can hire one guy this weekend. Yesterday there was a fire in the Gavalin Hills area near Riverside.

People wonder how a podunk widdle town like Hemet ended up with such a large airfield like Ryan - then they see fire season out there and all questions are answered. *shakes head*

We're pretty smoky here in FL too! Now, to make it interesting, there's a subtropical storm (andrea) heading our way from the north and east. If the gods are good, there will be lots of rain before there is lots of wind to fan the GA and FL fires. And no lightning please. Thank you very much!
