Lightheaded.
Sleepy.
Scatterbrained.

Flagyl is VILE. Think uncoated aspirin bitter X 100. The worst part is either it or the Cipro has the side effect of affecting my sense of taste...so everything tastes a little like Flagyl. And it is VILE.

Short-term memory is shot to hell and back. I can't even remember where the pad of paper with my lists are. I took all the lab work up the 405 yesterday only to find when I got there that I had left all the order paperwork at home...and had to go allll the way back to get it. (That's 90 minutes, each way.) I can't even get through the list in my head before I've forgotten the first item on the list.

I may over-react negatively to random shit - watch for it. I may act out of character in general - at least, that's what it seems like to me. I am exhausted - think how you'd feel after a con weekend (working it, not attending) and I didn't even have the fun aspect to balance it all out. CRANKY.

Impatient doesn't begin to describe it. I have no energy to do anything - and everything to do.

I'm also pissed. I've been sick for two weeks, still have no real idea why - doctor has been very clear I'm under his care at this point and not out of the woods. The first visit was $325, yesterday's was $125 - and that's before lab work and prescriptions. This is also VERY expensive.

I was sick on vacation, and all weekend. I'll try to be understanding about your stubbed toe - but if I fall asleep, don't draw one me, 'kay?

I've notified everyone I've been in contact with - this is a bad, bad bug - and that's the assumption we're working under.

Back to work. HEY - to the good?

Five out of the seven eBay auctions sold. I only have two things to bring back, and they're things I won't mind relisting/keeping.

I've discovered that Dog, The Bounty Hunter is actually pretty good. (I did say out of character, and I meant it.) Cops is fracking annoying. And I am playing a bit more Pokeyman - but you know you're sick when you're too weak to hold the DS, right?* Yeah. That was Sunday.

Back to work. At least, for as long as I can keep my head up.

*I have Burmy and Diffloon eggs if anyone wants one.

So sorry you're having to deal with this - whatever *this* is. I hope this most recent round of labs will give the doctor a firm diagnosis, so the "scattershot, try everything until something works" approach can be replaced with something specifically targeted to the bug, not the symptoms.

{{hugs}} Feel better! Oh, and do not drink while on Flagyl, not even a little bit.

Oh, doctor was VERY clear about that one. Not to worry - the last thing I need is alcohol right now....I'm plenty whacked as it is. ^_^

YUCK FOO. At least I only have to take the Cipro twice a day - the Flagyl is three times!

It's actually the Flagyl - metallic taste is a known side effect. But it could be the Cipro messing with your brain. I'm sorry you're having to go through this.

I'm sorry you're sick. Sometimes the meds can feel worse than the illness itself.

evil stuff..

way back in the late 80's, I had a vile form of stomach stuff happening to me, so much so that it concerned my doctors at Kaiser who eventually called in folks up at Stanford and other doctors because they had NO idea what it was... and at the time, they were really into thinking that I might have contracted a form of AIDS as well, since several other gay men had the same symptoms that I had, but no visible HIV in our bloodstream.

Finally, someone called the CDC in Atlanta and someone there suggested that they do the test for campylobacter, which is something they normally don't do, and they didn't think of before. Because of this, we were able to track it back to a water source at a park in the San Jose foothills. This did such a job on my insides that I ended up eating baby food for about 3 months and slowly brought my digestive tract back...

I sure hope they find what you've got, because I know the feeling. I'm well acquainted with Flagyl and Cipro and all those fun drugs. Back when I had this, lucky for me they had a new drug, Imodium which actually did the trick, nothing else would make my stomach slow down enough to rea

He's put me on the prescription strength big brother, Lomotil - which is just barely holding me.

Doctor hasn't said to do anything diet-wise, matter of fact, he wants normal diet (which is his MO, truth) - but I'm going to ask him about the birchermuesli and see what his reaction is tomorrow. ^_^

I did five samplings. I hope the results tomorrow show *something* for all this.

Almost a shame you can't take the stuff in an IV and skip all the tasting and stuff.

I hope you recover quickly.

I've never had an IV - but I can tell you this much. Bubblegum flavored Pedialyte does NOT suck.

Me too, hon. Me too.

Sadly the IV form would still be associated with the nasty taste in the mouth. It's the chemical compound itself.

I'd really love to have you over to help try to resolve some stuff - I've got the niftiest sandwich griller that is is only missing its power cord. Where would you go to find a replacement?

There's a LOT of stuff from that house packout in that condition -

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question.

You can try downloading the pdf catalog from Digikey. Some on pages 55-57 and page 1328.

Also look at the catalog at Jameco. A few on pages 212 and 231. Lots on pages 244 and 245, although mostly computer related.

Here are some links from my bookmark file that you can browse through:

Hope that helps :-)
