I just saw the Space Shuttle fly over work. It just touched down at Edwards AFB.

SO. STOKED.

It just never gets old.

This has been your space cadet moment for the day.

*GASP, squeeeee!*

Someday I'd like to see that.

Got to see some pretty cool stuff working next door to Moffat, but I've never seen the Shuttle with my own eyes.

Awesome, they made it home ok. Bloody shuttle is a death trap - they need to create the new shuttle fleet already.

I was fortunate enough to witness a shuttle launch once, and I was surprised by how moved I was. I went feeling, Sure, what the hell, why not--but when i actually watched the takeoff, I was practically in tears.

That's just plain awesome. Three cheers for NASA!

I was having lunch at the time...

But I heard the rumble and felt the pressure shift (several times) in my ears. My MIL didn't hear/feel a thing, and G was a bit too intent on Ice Age: The Meltdown.

Of course, my first thought was "...earthquake?" No, dear. Skyquake.

I saw it fly over my house on Wednesday night with the Space Station in tow. That was AWESOME.

I watched it go from west to east over Sacramento, once -- no idea where it was headed, maybe Florida -- like a pink-hot triangle, just silently. I got up at 4:30 am to go sit on the sidewalk wrapped in a blanket and watch for it. Then a few minutes later, as I was falling asleep in bed, again, BOOM.
It was amazing. That was '96.
