Knitty folks, heads up!

During our move it became clear that Gerry's annoying 'bad back' was significantly more serious than we'd originally thought. The bad back became crushed vertibrae, which became osteoporosis, which finally led us to Multiple Myeloma - a blood cancer that manifests itself in the bone marrow and is quite painful.

Many folks have asked how they can help. Making a donation - and accepting this pattern as a heart felt 'Thank You' seemed to be the most gracious way to accept help in return for a groovy pattern for a stunning dress! I am our breadwinner now - and what I do best is design & teach knitting. I'm curtailing much of my teaching activity to spend more time with Gerry, and after only 3 months our savings are eroding.

Guys, the pattern is gorgeous. Corset to full-length gown - go toss a few bucks into the hat and get something you'll use and wear yourself.

God, I hate cancer.

Two little ones. I've met them both. Hannah had her classmates convinced she was secretly Ginny Weasley for a while, thanks to the redheadedness, the freckles, and the mom who knits.

I have yet to get beyond garter stitch, myself...and I'm still thinking about picking it up for personal reasons.

One of my best friends lost his father (who was the same age as my older brother) to this cancer. Oh, I hates it forever.
