*looks* Neither I or catsonmars new place have any hits...*ahem*...yet this year.

But my old neighborhood does -

Age, gender, race...boy. It's very nearly a one portrait game. You can definitely see why racial/age profiling gets used so damn fast in this town.

EDIT: I'm wrong. This one was just on the way to work. Sad.

Scary - 12 homicides within a mile of a Friends Meeting I used to attend just a few years ago.

Thanks for posting the link. Local news is so sensationalized it can be hard to sort out the facts.

Oof. *hugs* The one thing about a case like the one you linked to, is that the violence is not random and doesn't tend to spread. The flip side of it is that it *is* very sad when someone gets to a point where they think they have to do that...

(There are situations where I would not want to continue to be here. Imposing that decision on someone else.... bad karma of the first order.)

My old neighborhood has no hits so far. Within a mile, however, there are three, all domestic disputes, all female victims. *sigh*

Twenty years ago, there was quite a bit of gang activity there, which from what I hear has subsided (my aunt has an optometry practice there now).
