I was really hoping this story wouldn't hit the US - I am absolutely bloody sick of hearing about this little kid - she was in the newspapers when I was house hunting in August, and has still been getting coverage EVERY FUCKING DAY. Her parents have leftovers for dinner? It's in the papers. Missing kids are an awful, heart wrenching experience, but this *one* girl has been getting constant attention while who knows how many don't even get a listing in the community weekly.

It's my POV on the whole thing - which is something nobody in the media is catching. Child stealing for international adoption is common in Portugal. Two and two together, neh? Bueller? Bueller?

Britney's in the tabloids and free papers here on a daily basis as well.

And today, all three free papers, the standard, and the tabloids had Maddie on the front cover. Not saying that your POV is wrong or that you're not entitled to it, just wondering why, say, the new session of Parliament got far less coverage.
