Lulu users may enlist professional editing and packaging for their books, then sell them via Borders distribution channels.

I know I have at least one person on the FL who works for Lulu. I've always been shy of "vanity publishing" because in all honesty, I've read through slush piles. It HURT.

But if it was actually good enough to put in a Borders store. Wow.

Come on. You've got a book hiding somewhere in you - what if you only had the jump the hurdle of being literate, and well-written...and not SEXAY enough to catch a publisher's eye?

EK, if you wanted to publish that latest of yours...here's your channel. Just sayin'

You know, somehow I don't think that quality is going to have much to do with this. Payment, however, might be a qualifing factor.

I just 'published' my first novel via LuLu. Really I just used them to print out a copy of the book so I can further edit it. I'm finding it so useful to edit a hard copy instead of a word document. I'm going to still try and find a regular distributor for it in the future.

When Alex turns 2, I plan to have someone bind all my LJ entries having to do with him as a gift when he turns 18. I plan to do that this the other children as well, using a 2 year window from when they come to live with us.
