Unfortunately, it always seems to be the same weekend as the Spring Rail Festival at Orange Empire.

If you've done the trains thing before - I'd vote to take this in at least once. You just wouldn't believe the scope - it is HUGE.

And you'd likely find someone with books on trains in abundance. No kidding.

Actually, I went there one year. You're right -- huge.

I do want to try to make Spring railfest this year (even if Barney and Bob the Builder will be there -- and I've seen Bob out of his suit!). So far, I haven't received the call to volunteer yet (we've been members there for 20 years), and it is free for members, so I'll actually be able to see all the improvements going on out there -- Perris is normally such a schlep I don't make it out there.

(Further, that day is the birthday party for my 4 year old nephew. Given the realistic choice of a kids birthday party at my sister-in-laws (who doesn't like me that much) or a day at the trains by myself.... I'll let my wife and daughter go to the S-I-L's, and I'll ride the Red Cars.)
