Stray Cat Rescue is holding another Free Spay event - April 27th.

All feral cats over 4 months welcome.

All cats will be:

* Sterilized * Vaccinated * Treated for Fleas * De-wormed * Ear-tipped

ALL CATS MUST BE IN HUMANE TRAPS - NO EXCEPTIONS

Microchips available to caregivers/trappers at cost $11

If you can, volunteer to help them out on the day of the event - or the night before, when they will go humanely trap ferals for their catch and release program..

Well, I'm ready for a cat or two, but I think 3,000 miles is a little far to travel to adopt a kitty. :-(

Out here, there is a practice of additional marking to indicate a cat has been spayed, particularly if they are doing ferals that are planned to simply be let go back to their original colony location (can't be adopted, wild).

Ear-tipping is the practice of taking the tip off one of the ears - I don't like that, the alternative is to place a small black tattoo on the abdomen, which I think is kinder.
