Seriously. Nothing fatal, mind - just one OMG how did that happen - kind of week. And it's only Tuesday.

When it's on fire here, it's arson. When it's north of Point Conception, it's lightning.

Riiiight. That's for all the chewy air jokes, guys. God has a sick sense of humor.

(Seriously? Holy crap. It's JUNE. Is anyone else as slack-jawed as I am right now? JUNE.)

This is the week to get the last of the documents in to get the court proceedings begun in Taiwan - and Jim has another staph infection in the eye. I think this makes three now. It is painful, debilitating and time consuming to resolve.

I keep telling him not to munch on fingers, he works in a hospital. Fingers rub eyes. Go figure. There's a bug resistant to treatment that likes eyes, but not fingers - I think.

I think I may take Friday off to get everything done, and deliver it to Pasadena by hand.

AX is next weekend. This weekend?

UH.

30 year high school reunion. I need to go find something spiffy to wear - I considered finding someone to help me get dressed in proper kimono, but jettisoned that idea when it got so hot. Corset and fishnets also out - no time to properly build or fit one.

I'm not wearing a polyester pantsuit. I flatly refuse.

Think I'll go hit Pop Killer and see what I can dig up.

Yukata or haori? Heck, in this heat, a sari if you can scrounge one.

So glad the heat wave broke up here, at leat. Can do without the fires, though. And yeah, WTF June and drought.

Staph in the eye? Yuck. I suppose making him wear eye protection until he gets the reflexes fixed is not really an answer. Hope it clears up soon.

Best of luck with the paperwork.

*Wince* I've dealt with staph. Recently, it's decided to show up under my arms, which is all KINDS of fun, lemme tell ya. It's only remotely easier because I can now recognize it and start draining it BEFORE it gets 4" across...

TELL me he only has staph and not MRSA. Considering where he works, he's at a pretty high risk for the latter, and I KNOW how ugly that is to get rid of.

I went in to see selfsame eye doctor yesterday to pick up new glasses...his response?

"We just don't culture these things."

Yah baby. It's definitely resistant to reasonable treatment, sez I.

(For the other? Tried putting neosporin under there as a preventative? Cliff used to get 'diaper' rashes under his arms - that killed it, thankfully.)

I've been thinking about it, and I think I'll be taking a pass on it this year. Between the heat and our entertaining finances, plus how crowded the dealer's hall gets, if [livejournal.com profile] chronovious wants to go, he can take Mr. Crankypants, but I think a badge for me is just a waste of money.
