In the news this morning, United is going the way of TWA, Pan-Am and the dodo.

The job market lost 40,000 more jobs in November.

I just got more stock options.

What the fuck?

God, I am VERY confused. If this is payback for surviving the last Bush administration, thankee kindly - if it's for staying in Southern California even when the place grows more barbarous daily - okay, I'll accept that too.

If it's just my turn, so be it.

Don't feel too bad... some of us are already unemployed. ^^;

As horrid as it sounds...

This is the one time I'm actually sort of glad about it. I've flown United for years, most of the time not by personal choice, and 9 times out of 10 the service was hideous, baggage was lost, the planes were hideously late, the passengers were lied to for reasons, and other problems such as United telling me to fend for myself for 14 hours at Newark Airport after having my flight home cancelled...and did I mention that I was 15 at the time?

I do feel sorry for the people who worked hard and really did try their best to make United a decent place, but on the whole, it couldn't have happened to a nicer company.

I take it back. I *CAN* think of a more deserving company - UPS.
