Mochi and tea is good breakfast, yo.

Really.

Well, in addition to Hat Attack, I've now gotten myself into two other yarny messes.

One, I was gifted with a stash courtesy of an estate. Kid you not, this stuff goes back to when The Broadway was a retail store. That old. BUT. It also looks gorgeous. I think I may look for some patterns to fit some of it, pack it up and gift it this Christmas as kits...but there's enough in there to do that, and have stuff leftover. Stitch n Bitch at MAH HOUSE soon?

Two? Someone local is going to become the distributor for a line of Japanese yarns (think silk and wool blends, ribbons and gorgeous OMG) and needs people to make up some sample garments before January. UH. Yeah. I'll get credit to buy more yarn - I guess I'm still a bit of a softie when I hear about someone needing help to get a small business off the ground. Did I mention she has a husband in a wheelchair on dialysis? Maybe within ten years of my age?

SUCKER.

So. If you see me around, tell me to go knit something. I really do need to at this point.

(Also, suggestions for a knitty stuff icon requested. Gimme your best!)

I've always been fond of this one, which I made based on a post in the Make blog.

When my youngest daughter was a couple of months old, we moved to Okinawa, Japan for three years. While there, I crocheted a blanket for her using an afghan stitch and Junko yarn (this was in the late '70's). It's been washed and used and loved and dragged all over creation and now belongs to her six month old son. In all this time, it's never pilled and never lost it's colors!

This reminds me. I have a scarf for you, but I realized that I do not actually have an address to which I should be sending it.

Oi!

Go knit something!

For my knittish icon, I took a close-up of one of my own pieces and put letters on't. 8-)
