VOLARE WHOA-OOH
Feb. 22nd, 2007 03:10 pmI have now done karaoke three times and have asked for a fourth helping next week. It's great doing it with people who don't laugh at you, it helps a LOT.
(Although it didn't help to have Rob tell me the year I ran a convention nearly single-handed when I was 22 was the year he was born. Aw, frack. I'll tell that story someday. Paula Smith said I'd always love my convention because it was MINE and I did it and I told Paula Smith NO FUCKING WAY it was so awful and shameful and so on. Anyone out there remember when Zebra-con took a break and Cop-con happened in Claremont, CA? Yeah, my bad. The con where I forgot my shoes for the awards banquet, and had an attack kitten for a mascot and I drove Leslie Fish all through Los Angeles on a Starsky & Hutch location tour. That Cop-con.)
I knew Jim had a voice. What I didn't know was how much he can light up given the opportunity. I'm also glad that we will have no biological children because I can tell he was the kind of kid that wound UP when tired and took a long time to get to bed. He's tired? No problem! BOUNCE OFF THE WALLS AAAAAAUGH!
He was dead tired,
catsonmars. No kidding. Before you came over to get us, he was taking a nap, so tired.
His whole family can sing that well, innately. Envious as hell, yes I am.
I can now make noise. Now, to make NICE noise. Good luck.
(This is kind of like learning how to cook. There's a lot of really bad noise in my future, but you gotta start somewhere.)
