Hello, this is Friday? Oh. I have other things besides work tomorrow, don't I?

I need to be up, hydrated and ready for street action, beginning at o'dark early -

And I went home AND DID REALLY NOT-FUN STUFF all lunch hour. *grumble*

I have a laundry list of fees I need to look out for in the next year related to the adoption. Suffice it to say, it's getting posted right where both of us can see it when we want the next shiny thing that catches our eye.

No, no more window replacements. No, no more game systems - we have plenty. No, we have PLENTY of anime to watch...etc.

The rest, is budgeted. It's a much better place to be this year, to be honest.

We just have to be aware. Just like everything else these days.

Put that in your imagination and work it.

Got a call from Jim about half an hour ago - no lunch break. No potty breaks. No kidding.

It's his night for chow and dishes, and he's asking for a get out of the kitchen free card - would you deny him?

Not when it's Outback in the offing. *chuckles*

*Getting me some sweet potato goodness with dinner tonight boogie...*

In other news, the fence and three of our windows are probably going to be gone when I get home. *laughs* Demo is today - we're replacing them!

Ah, the joys of home ownership. Sign here. And there. And there again....

Just before I dive into some real intensive coding projects....

My arrangements for AOD are done. Hotel, flights and car. DONE. You want me, go up to ConOps. It's sounding like a very small staff (think no reliefs) for a small group (less than 3,000). I'm taking my knitting.

Went out on Saturday to the Hotel Surplus liquidation place and got patio furniture, a mini-bar, a small Venetian inlaid table, a really cool lamp and some clear depression glass dessert dishes - all for less than $300. And [livejournal.com profile] caitlin found a new television set. We had a great time - would have been perfect if it hadn't been so damn HOT.

And then on Sunday, went out for World Cup final finals over at [livejournal.com profile] catsonmars's place. WTF, French asshole? Jeeez. World Cups are just too much fun, I don't care who plays. I understand the Wimbleton finals were Sunday, too. Anyone catch those?

When I got home, I fwumped. I want another weekend. That one was nice.

Jim did a really good job of shelving the new DVDs - the bigger challenge remains with the books, though. Oh, and the laundry. I need to pull the dressers away from the way and repair one again. That means shifting everyting currently un-put away because the drawers aren't working. Clutter. Hates it forever.

The yards, though? Look fantastic. Making progress, I think - overall.

Such excitement.

I want Photoshop and a scanner for my Mac. *wah*

Inbetween blinding flashes of busy. Hey, I'll take it where I can get it.

Am I good at remembering birthdays? Don't all answer at once. I know, I know. I suck. Remember this when your birthday rolls around and I completely vape it. 'Kay?

I remember my own. I remember Jim's. I remember Mom's and my sibs - past that?

Ummmm....

I managed to get [livejournal.com profile] silverkun's in - because I knew I wouldn't be up for the picnic (It sucks having your birthday in November, accept my envy. Picnic in November. Get real.). I have a number of birthday reminders on email. It doesn't help.

Guys, accept my apologies in advance. GHAD, don't take it personally.

Priorities are keeping the wheels rolling on Life (and that includes Work), Planning for This Adoption Thang (and that includes House Foo and Remodeling), and then keeping tabs on Jim, and then - games. Doing well. I'm getting to bed at midnight and up again at 5:30 AM in okay condition - but I'm a bit sleep depped.

Oh, and I had a "check engine soon" light on the car this morning. Which means it went in as soon as I got work covered this morning.

*later*

Oh, how fun. A loose gas cap.

A no-charge trip, and they washed the car - so all good, but jeez.

Gulping lunch now, running up to pick up some stuff for Heartsent from HR - blindingly busy on the horizon again.

ANYONE COMING TO AX LOOK FOR ME AT KARAOKE. FEAR.

Nothing on Friday, nothing over the weekend. Bad me. Must have been busy. Yeah. Busy.

Friday, we had 1-800-GOT-JUNK over. We had junk - they took it awaaaay. The couch, a lot of obsolute computer pieces from the old Superba days, other assorted yard "things" left over from the previous owners of the house...a lot of bricks....

And we had the yard people in. Three years, and we never really got on top of the yardwork, so I caved and hired professionals. They'll be back once a month. I give. There's a limit to my tools, ability and time.

I have a backyard that I could turn children loose in. I won't find any surprises (unless you count dog poo) back there. It's all taken care of.

Jim directed traffic, but it still required me to come home from work for lunch - and Saturday and Sunday were much the same. Get shit done. Get it cleaned up, dealt with -

I didn't get the financial documents done for the adoption people, and the dusting is still out on the list of things to do. However, the vacuuming is done (take THAT, hairballs) and the cats have catnip to roll in and get silly over again. The birds have seed in the feeders again, and home resembles the peaceable kingdom once more.

AX is this next weekend. What.

Guess what. I got work to do.

And I want another weekend, right now. Or, at least a nap.

I have tomorrow with Jim. It is the one day we have off together. Today, I hope he is spending some of the day whacking heartless so he can take on Sephy sometime when I am home tomorrow. He was at level 56 last night - he wants at least 80 to go up against Mister FancyPants. While he's busy doing that, I'm keeping busy with my captive Sims breeding projects. They progress nicely, thankyouverymuch *facesmacks.* (We're spending waaaay too much time before glowing screens right now.)

But I could do Faire tomorrow. It would shoot the entire day, but we could do it. I even have garb I've only worn once.

*taps chin*

It's that or housework, adoption paperwork collecting, bill paying, home improvement planning...and lotsa Kingdom Hearts and Sims2.

Oh, and no extra gas expeditures. Or money frittered away on fripperies like faire food, entrance fees, parking and such.

I know a bunch of you are going, entirely independent of each other. On a list as big as mine, it's intriguing.

But it is the one day we have together, to do the things we need to do as a couple. I could do the bills, the housework, yadda ya. It's better when we do it together and get it out of the way, much much faster.

And the snogging is better when we're both in the same place. Yanno.

Decisions, decisions...best part is there's no way I can lose. Because next weekend is Mother's Day - and a $60 trip in gasoline. Yeehaw.

Still a bit under the weather - and a mad dash home to meet up with the social worker from DCFS doesn't help much.

That, and breakfast was Pop-Tarts and lunch was McDonald's. I couldn't get any worse if I tried. Harder.

I'm afraid, [livejournal.com profile] riverheart, we can't hate the social worker. Not that I ever did - but I'm careful what I say around her.

She's had both tollers and flat-coats, dear. She hunts. She's hunted with them, and currently has a hunter-grade golden she's working with.

If for no other reason, thank the powers that be that our lines crossed -

We may yet finish the process with DCFS - I'm not adverse to the idea. However, once the funding is in, so will be the paperwork over at Heartsent. First one to get us a placement, well, wins. We're a catch, what can I say?

And I'm building a five-year plan for my house, that includes some significant rennovation - because I found out what it appraised for and fell over backwards.

I'm half-way to a million. My little crackerbox with one teensy bathroom. I didn't ask for that - I didn't. I just wanted to be closer to work.

[livejournal.com profile] elfwench is now one of Jerry's Kids. That's something to tuck in the back of your mind at Labor Day. Good for her, say I. It'll be the first good help she's gotten in a long time without having to beg for it. Jim and his brothers used to do car washes back in the day for that telethon - he'll appreciate that.

Another good reason for me to Sim?

SimPE and HackenHausen are both originally in German, and are fantastic language-practicing opportunities. It's scary - now, to find some places to do actual conversation - that's my one big sore point. I can understand most of what's being said - responding? AIEE.

And now, I do meeting. Then go home. Eat food. Sleep. That kind of thing.
