Not buying Sims 3. Not today, not likely this year at all - I'm just too happy with the game I'm playing. There is no conversion for the existing game to port over to the new platform and worse yet, no apparent inclination or interest whatsoever to do so.

They took the existing characters and did the prequel on them. *facesmacks* I thought it was deliciously tongue-in-cheek of them to carry over characters built for the original Sims into Sims 2 (Brandi Broke is the daughter of the Newbie household, for example. The whole Goth family thang. Etc.)

But for Sims 3, did they take it ahead a notch? No, they went back a generation and started again. *facesmacks again* YOU SUCK.

And they delayed the release for no other reason but to make their sales figures look good.

Not. Buying. It.

Just got word yesterday - looks like AOD is on again for next year, same Bat Time, same Bat Hotel. Will have to wait for final word, but I've committed to doing that panel I've been threatening for years -

"Welcome to the '60's. It was a great time to be a kid in love with anime."

Who the bleep needs Spongebob when you have Beany and Cecil. Oh, wait.

I think I may try to find out if Tom Hatten can make it. If there was an expert on animation older and wiser than I - it's the guy who showed more of it on local television before cable than anyone I know. You can't beat him when it comes to Popeye, folks. He even had words for the awful dubs we had to endure in the 70's - things like Jack and the Witch that he thought was excellent Halloween fare. Copyright, 1967.

I may have to see if I can't get a video room or some slots dedicated to material covered in the panel - no chance I can show enough material to give a taste of the era in an hour, after all. *snaps fingers* The alternate animation track! There we go - stuff that isn't anime. But is good. Yeah.

Got time. Got plotting and scheming to do. Still want to see if I can't put the 'Bad Guys VOA" panel together. (That one could get pricey, depending on how many of them are Good Sports, and for our attendence level, they'd have to be.)

And see what can be gotten on DVD.

Could almost thunk myself in the head for not coming up with it sooner, but I think Sunday afternoons are going to turn into crafts afternoons with Xander. I just flat ran out of cope and things to keep him busy (and it was clear he wanted to Do Something with me, just neither one of us had a clue WHAT) in that hammock between up from nap and Dad comes home from work. (Dad is a big draw, folks. BIG.)

Going to go get some supplies. And a big bin to store them in. Right now, I have some coloring books and crayons - not enough or the right kind of stuff.

Anytime daycare does kid art, he really loves showing off. My refrigerator is covered right now. (I've told you how much I LOVE kid art, right?) So maybe we do some at home.

I certainly did enough of it myself. I did scouts, and then was a camp counselor. Come on brain cells, recall some of that stuff....

It's Tuesday. Payday Friday. Come on, Friday....
