950. That's all I can go back, guys. That's about Friday morning, Thursday night by my reckoning. If I missed something, poke me.

But after waiting for criminal charges to be filed against Drew, neighbors learned that local and federal prosecutors could not find a statute applicable to the case.

The community's patience dried up. Furious neighbors — and in the wake of recent media reports, an outraged public — are taking matters into their own hands.

In an outburst of virtual vigilantism, readers of blogs listed the Drews' home address, personal phone numbers, e-mail addresses and photographs of the couple.

Dozens of people allegedly have called local businesses that work with the Drew family's advertising-booklet company and flooded the phone lines this week at a local discount department store where Curt Drew reportedly works.

"I posted that — where Curt works. I'm not ashamed to admit that," said Trever Buckles, 40, a neighbor whose two teenage boys grew up with Meier. "Why? Because there's never been any sense of remorse or public apology from the Drews, no 'maybe we made a mistake.' "

Local teenagers and residents protest just steps from their tiny porch. A fake 911 call, claiming a man had been shot inside the Drew home, sent police to surround the one-story house. People drive through the neighborhood in the middle of the night, screaming, "Murderer!"

Yup, there's an update. Uh, guys? While these are the instigators? They didn't act alone. Just...tuck that away someplace, 'kay?

I'm so glad Jim's out of that place, and my BIL knew better than to move there.

White people fucking scare me.

I think we were nineteen. I think we might have been twenty or twenty-one people. I'm not sure anymore. I do know the house was ready, food was served half an hour late (we TRIED to wait for Cedric, but he was delayed an hour past the witching hour), but there was plenty of everything and nobody went away unhappy. I think. People who came? Too nice to say otherwise. I'm sure of it.

I just didn't get to visit much. I really need to do something about that next year - now that I have actually getting the house ready, dinner planned and served down to a fine-tuned hum. I had 16 last year and it was a total battle. This year? House ready the night before, lots of food prepped and ready to go - by the time I got Alex home last night, I was ready to sit down and tell my mother - it was easy!

And...it was. Scarily so. Note to self - having house cleaned and done before Monday the key to it all. I won't have to do much more to get ready for Christmas and New Years than vacuum and dust. SCHWEET.

Get ready for the LJ roll call.

In addition to the members of my family (and slightly extended family due to BIL), we had [livejournal.com profile] caitlin and [livejournal.com profile] terredancer (who put in yeoman duties above and beyond, in addition to flying through some of the WORST holiday delays I can recall and getting to bed at 2:00 AM on Thanksgiving as a result), [livejournal.com profile] snobahr with family (SO and boyzilla...who is getting HOOGE and scary smart) bringing [livejournal.com profile] doodlesthegreat...in addition to [livejournal.com profile] betnoir and [livejournal.com profile] westernslope coming over and being perfect houseguests...I had just enough time to say HI! and before I knew it...they had to go. Getting ready for Loscon and all that - while I felt much like too little butter over too much bread. (Thanks Sis, for dragging me out of the house to go to the beach in the middle of things. Thanks. *oh well*)

Pictures coming soon to the Facebook account.

The day after? Downtown Disney with grand-nephew Alex, Cait and Terry - which included Build-a-Bear. Then...shopping! (In the midst of the shower breaking, the carbon-monoxide alarm going off and other assorted weirdness.) We got to Marukai, 99 Ranch Market, Trader Joes...and two thrift stores, one of which was having a 50% off sale. EVERYTHING. Take that, Black Friday! Right in the eye!

Saturday was a total metro day to Griffith Observatory - which was fantastic until we had to wait 45 minutes for the driver to show up to actually use the equipment parked at the Red Line connection to get to the facility. LA DOT, you suck.

We managed to do the observatory and meet up with [livejournal.com profile] catsonmars for Curry House that night. WINNARS WERE US. (Again, pictures to follow. Think restaurant windows done up for Christmas with the largest collection of Ultraman action figures I've seen to date...wearing Santa suits.)

Sunday morning - get the girls to LAX, the boy to Hemet. Me, home in one piece, safe and fed.

Thanksgiving, 2007 - in the can. RAH!

I just fielded a call from [livejournal.com profile] caitlin - the Friendly Skies have finally shown they ain't friendly at all whatsoever. Keep fingers crossed - it's going to be a long night.

Butterball.com is down. Like, DED. *laughs*

I still have a turkey in the freezer and linens in the dryer. Wants to go home now. *fidgets*

Past that, plans and schemes are dancing in my head - looking at the guest list, I predict one of two things after food - stitch n bitch or gaming. Both are equally possible. Anyone up for Animal Crossing? I think we'll have upwards of six towns in the house. Oh very yes.

I'll also empty the ice bin tonight too and let it make new, fresh ice overnight. *nods*

The turkey is hereby dubbed Senor Bird...and he's going to be evicted from the freezer as soon as I get home. Which I hope is soon. Like, really soon.

Yup, finished my Yuletide offering, uploaded that bad boy and waved goodbye to it.

I have hereby confirmed yet again, I can sit down and write anything - just prompt me. (No, it didn't turn out that slashy. No, it didn't turn out that good - yet, I am certain my recipient will likely laugh out loud a time or two, and that's plenty.) My first Yuletide, and I didn't screw the pooch. In the midst of what looks to be my biggest Thanksgiving yet, no less.

Orange food prepped and in the reefer. Two apple pies, ditto. One walnut, one pecan pie to be baked tonight - and in the fridge they go as well. Cranberry sauce = DONE. I'm still debating a batch of apple cake. Probably should do the pumpkin pies tonight too. Tomorrow night is the last great household cleanup, because Wednesday night people begin to fly in.

I'll have a houseful of guests over the weekend, too. Scheduling people back to the airport is going to be fun because I also have to return a nephew to his mother in Hemet on Sunday as well.

My hair looks like ASS.

I've also made both carrot soup and black-eyed peas to get us through the next couple of days of everything BUT cooking - I think I'm tasking Jim with unpacking and washing the china tonight while I'm baking pies. We turned the house upside down on Saturday, literally. I don't think the windows - or the refrigerator - have looked so good all year.

The effects of the brush fires were still apparent - I have stucco on the outside of the house, and spraying the windows down prior to washing them? The water ran black - so the walls got a bit of attention as well.

Oh, those windows were terrible. Really, really. The blinds are just as bad, but I'm pulling them completely open during the day - so, not so bad.

I've decided this year's advent calendar is going to be entirely music - so expect 24 posts with nothing but mp3s in them. PULLED OUT OF MY ASS. FEAR.

I need to go get that Christmas letter written and printed out so we can also do Christmas cards tonight. Damn.

So much to do, and so little of it work. AUGH.

Actually, I have four. And that will increase to six before I go to bed tonight.

I will also have a pan of sweet potatoes and one of green bean casserole, prepped and in the fridge as well.

Goober, you're going to be evicted at about 5:00 AM tomorrow. Got to check the schedule to be sure.

Thanksgiving, version 2007 - gearing up for release within 24 hours.
