Apr. 19th, 2009 10:02 pmGuys, I haven't been here since Thursday morning. I left work early, sick as a dog and went to the ER at Kaiser since my own doctor could not see me (too busy).
I've had my first IV put in, hooray. I was poked, prodded, TB tested (I admitted I was less that four weeks out from a trip to Taiwan, and had been sick three of them), blood work out the butt, and I wasn't kind to the doctor. "How are you?" "SICK."
I was very clear on the matter. Can't breathe, in pain and really sick of this. That's how I am, Doc.
I'm on a second round of antibiotics, slowly improving, but not really good company.
Then I got a call last night - the last member of BIL's family was found dead across country. Could be anything, including homicide. This is out of four sibs, and both parents. He's not 50. SUCKTASTIC.
Another friend went ass over teakettle and broke his foot. This has NOT been a good weekend, except for everything else being routine and ordinary. (Thanks, God.)
Kid now testing me REAL hard - which is good, he trusts me enough to do it. The bad is he's punching buttons. Ah, parenting. Kid, I've tried them all. Good luck. (Did I tell you he found the Naruto disks and will watch them INSTEAD of his beloved Spongebob? Also, die in fire Disney, where the bleep are some Power Ranger DVD sets? I have a kid who will almost sleep with a packet of curry right now because that's all I can find with Power Rangers on it - and that at Marukai at that. Die in a fire - right now. Hurry up.)
I'm checking the FL quickly, then going to bed.

Date: 2009-04-20 07:40 am (UTC)I ordered my copies from http://www.jpc.de as they were slightly cheaper than Amazon.
If you want him to retain some of his Chinese language skills, consider ordering some Anpanman and kiddie shows from http://mall.jsdvd.com as they sell lots of very cheap legal Region 3 anime. English is rare on these, though.
Feel better!

Date: 2009-04-20 10:44 pm (UTC)If I'm lucky, I might have two hours to myself in a day, and I'm hoarding those to read the books I've been putting aside for six months. And not making that, to be honest - snorting ink and paper instead.
Being sick sucks - and I don't have anyone to push this to to handle it.

Date: 2009-04-20 09:39 am (UTC)There really isn't a lot of power ranger stuff out there these days - I know the DVD selection in our library system is very, very small.
