Jim's grandfather passed last night.

And I've had to put my foot down - he can't go to the funeral. I need him here - and so does Xander.

Let alone what the bank account says.

AX is later this week - so help me, he deserves the break - but it's poor consolation.

God, that's awful for all of you - and especially Jim. I think that that's the *sensible* answer to the situation, considering all you guys have been through recently, but it's hard cheese all the same.

This is just tough for everybody concerned. I tend to believe ceremonies are for the living, and it might help Jim to go through it. But you guys have to have other priorities right now.

It's a tough time, but the living (and newest addition to your family) need him most right now. Some day you'll all be able to travel back and visit with him family at a less stressful time.

Having a child changes your life in many ways. Sometimes that means not being able to visit family, no matter how badly you need to. He might not like it right now, but I think deep down Jim knows you were within your rights to put your foot down.
