I just got word that a bunch of my friends worked at AT&T. Note the tense.

Yeah. This time of year - bye bye worky, so long.

I've had to cope with this - last time, it was 1992, then 1993 (yeah, two years in a row, same time of the year...I had the diabetic husband, remember?) - and all I can say is I hope they find wonderfully fun temp jobs that pay as well as that one gig I got at Warner Brothers for six weeks AT Christmas in 1993.

Because the rest is SUCK.

So much for that iPhone...until they have another provider. I was just beginning to soften up a bit towards the idea, too.

And if I didn't have to have them for local service, I surely wouldn't.

I don't even like to *call* them AT&T. They are NOT the AT&T I used to tolerate. They are SBC aka Pac Bell aka Teh Debul Monopoly, wearing ATT's sheepskin over their rabid wolverine self. I know they gutted most of ATT's old employees already, at least in the departments I heard anything from.

The remaining idiots can't even give me a consolidated bill - even though we are stuck with them for both local phone AND Internet - without changing our service plan(s) to a more expensive one. (They apparently own our fiber or something. Grr.)
