kyburgOne of the things my lovely memory is reminding me of -
Facebook is doing its level best to find every person who ever knew me as a child right now.
And one of the first things upon seeing the current photograph of the winsome 12 year old I used to know?
"Wow, you look just like your mother/grandmother!" Because, well - I can see the face of that alcoholic parent of yours from that Friday night I stayed to do the dishes and you came out to compliment me. I adored that grandmother of yours, you know.
Quit dyeing your hair that dark. You hated it when your mother did it, and you were right then. Really really.
