kyburgWell, I'll leave the imood thingie alone for a while, but it's largely wishful thinking at this point.
Picked up Jim from work last night to take him straight to the ER at Chino Valley - barking like a seal. He has a viral chest cold, feels like crap and stayed home from work today. I suspect he'll sleep the entire day. So much for romance.
*sigh*
Got a phone call from Sis while we were at the ER - my favorite nephew (it's my journal, I can have favorites here...) is turning 13. *Does a happy dance* and they are taking him to Disneyland for two days to celebrate. They need pet care. I call back this morning before going to work and confirm, yes, I can take care of pets for one night...sheesh...and discover they have a new kitten.
Wait for it.
Macaroni and Cheese. Pookie named it. Pookie, my 6-year-old clone. They call him Mac, and he's 14 weeks old. I'm to go look and make sure he's still inside. I think I'll manage. ^^
Had a long talk with Mom yesterday - if she had any more perk, I'd have to rename her Katie Couric. Get into the giggles with a nearly-80 year old Mom someday - it's a kick. Anyway, we traded what we knew about Sis and I'm glad to say I finally got something other than "you shouldn't" when I said I'm giving Sis a wide berth while she's dealing with this eye thing. I mentioned what she was like when she was pregnant. I got sympathy. This is good. Somebody finally got the clue that my sister is not always someone I can deal with. Or want to. Or should be made to. So there. Ug, I have spoken.
Tomorrow, they paint the downstairs and I'll have to find a way to pull everything away from the walls so they can. The vinyl floors are down, and the carpet is due the 27th. It's worse than living in a garage - the disarray is incredible. Being sick, busy and sick again doesn't help at all.
Boss got some fresh albacore tuna from a fishing buddy of his - what does he do? He grills it at home last night, and brings in the leftovers as fresh tuna salad for sandwiches today - complete with butter lettuce and fresh tomatoes from the farmer's market, and good bread (NOT Wonderbread...blech). Boss is a great cook - tuna salad had hard-boiled eggs, celery and other good stuff. Yum.
Love my boss. For good reason.
Zo-zo is going to Saudi today and will be gone for weeks. Fucking hell. Not bad enough he goes to Pakistan over Christmas, he's got to go to Saudi fucking Arabia. We just got Narendra back from India this week.
*grump* Protective mode on overdrive. Nevermind that they're used to this and I'm not. My friends, my neuroses. I get very fond of my coworkers. I spend more time with them than just about anyone else, go figure.
Michael is going to China next week. For four weeks. **envy**

Mimosas sound good right now. A really piquant martini, like a lemon one, sound good too.
And a good nap. I really need a nap right now.
