Now, I'm thinking. It's Monday, and now you've made me start thinking. Fuck me.

Found the quiz in the previous post from a LJ user who remarked that "this quiz seems to want to make out that commitment and exclusivity is synonymous." That got a hrmm while I took it (and if you think the result was a huge surprise...wrongo and you don't know probably one of my most obvious defining features).

What is committment if it isn't to some kind of exclusive relationship (even if it is with 10 or more people?) -- ?

Then there was the whole "get this freaking stuff to [livejournal.com profile] varna or else! exercise.

Download a CD ripper. It's good for 20 rips. I get three tracks done and it thinks it's done 20 rips. So be it. I got what I needed.

Download Winamp yet again to listen to them. Download some skins too - bite me.

Download FTPVoyager again - and whoo-hoo, the registration for the previous version isn't good for this one, so I'll have to buy this one too. It's good for 30 days, and by then, maybe I won't want to do this again.

I bash my head against the security gadgets I'm certain anyone with some experience with them would recognize and finally upload the mp3s that haven been promised for oh, too long.

It's not nice when Barry Manilow reminds you of someone who know. Not nice at all.

But I have mixed feelings about the song, nonetheless.

It's a set of "bonus" tracks - ones you won't get off the shelf. The Mayflower album has a total of five of them - two you can get with the UK pressing, and these three if you see the 2002 tour and buy the Mayflower album there. You can't get them anywhere else.

One is sterling - "Walking Wounded" is a lovely piece with dynamite lyrics and a musical score that dips and floats while the lyrics bemoan the irony of two people passing each other every day and never seeing each other...always "wounded" while that certain someone sits just next to you. I've never bought much into the idea that just anyone would be better than nobody, but then again, this is Barry Manilow...and nobody suffers quite like he does.

There is a extended mix of "They Dance!" from the Mayflower album. Okay, I have it. When I need to keep people busy longer, I'll play it instead of the original.

But...then.

"I Don't Wanna Know."

Brrr.

Didn't say you were going to like it. I just said it reminded me of you, [livejournal.com profile] varna dear. I think of you every time it plays.

It's a terribly one-sided piece, as well.

And you're not the only one with regrets.

Accomplished yesterday:

Trash out. Recyclables turned into dog food.
Three loads of laundry!
All meals cooked and eaten at home, and all dishes done. Go, me.
Some areas tidied, misc. nursing and napping.

If we don't get the books packed up and out of the house, we are going to be so screwed.

And I have less than $5 in change to live on until Friday. Boo-yah.

Hate financial surprises. Hate, hate, hate.
