But I got done what needed to get done before Monday, so it's all good.

With all the spare time, one would think I'd be posting more, and more verbosely. Intelligently. With less whining.

Well, fergit about it.

As I was telling Jim this morning, we can go on like this indefinitely. We can keep paying our housing every two weeks, live in a space that is less than the size of my boss' office, do without creature comforts like an oven and a bathtub...if we can overlook the fact that our possessions are scattered in five different places, that the dog is driving my brother nuts and the cat is living life la vida pokeball....

I've found a new community - [livejournal.com profile] 50bookchallenge - I'm just wondering how many I'm shy of 50 right now for this year. I'd have to drag out all the books - wait, can't be done. *sighs*

Jim bought the new gameboy advance. The one that has rechargeable batteries and weights half what the original one did. If he isn't playing with that thing, he's got Worms for the PC and that's keeping him sane. Barely. You don't want to know how many hours he's put on Pokemon Ruby. I've put over 50 hours on Sapphire, and I know I'm about 25% of his total play time.

Wolf's Rain...wow. We watched the first three of them this morning. Every time Tsume walks away from the camera, the mental image of running up, grabbing the pants by the seams and yanking...then of course, running like hell would commence, and the idea of him trying to chase me with his pants around his ankles makes me grin maliciously.

What keeps me sane, I guess.

Work is demanding...and not, by cycles. The world continues to amaze, frighten and anger me in much the same way.

Buying habits change - instead of a grocery list, it's a grocery item. A bottle of shampoo, a bag of cat food for the boarder.

We plan. We went looking at kitchen appliances this morning. Drooled over home entertainment systems and bathtubs we could never justify having. Dreamed of backyard BBQs.

And we wait. Poor Jim, you don't have to look far - he's subdued. Like a flashlight running out of battery power.

I just don't think about it much.

Let it work. We can begin all over again with another house...but we want this one. We've seen ourselves in it, planned our lives with it.

Let it happen.

I'm all about Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. And Super Monkey Ball Jr. They're super. :)

Which version of Worms? I played the demo of the original a lot. The AI had a flaw in it such that if I dug underneath his last worm, he'd shoot straight up in the air and eventually destroy himself. I've played Worms Armageddon a little recently. Against the AI, what I lack in Artillery-style aiming, I make up for in strategy. :) I hear that Worms 3 is coming out for PC and GBA.

Worms for the GBA. I'm doomed.

I'll have to pass this along to Jim -

Do you have reason to expect bad news on Monday? Maybe what happened on Friday was just the Universe's way to make a really bad joke, and then everything got straightened out, and you just don't know it yet. I'm hoping you get the house you want, in any case.

Strictly speaking, when you fund through FHA - you fund through the Fair Housing Office of the Federal Government. And while it is for your own protection, there are rules.

One of which requires that all of the building meets code. Code being the building code. It has to have earthquake retrofits...copper piping...etc.

A converted garage automatically does not meet code because code requires a certain amount of covered parking. Not that there is anything dangerous. Or wrong. Just...you have to have a garage.

We've been assured that as long as there was a garage door, we were likely okay with the appraisal. We know it's converted. We're okay with that. However, should it show up on the appraisal that the garage isn't a garage...FHA won't fund, the deal falls apart and we have to go find another house. We were warned...but assured not to worry. *sigh* Oh, well.

a quite belated reply

*GRIN*

You are not the only one with such a reaction. (Though technically, he's not really wearing pants that can be yanked down... illusion, and alla that.)

See, I tease the hell out of RL people who try wearing pants like that, since 9 outta 10 they just look silly. Leave it to an anime boy to make it look good.

And

GAH

And if I hadn't hit the stupid enter key on accident... this would all have been in the previous post. LOL:

And here's hoping it all works out for you! I remember all the stress from the times my family has moved about and tried buying new homes... it works out in the end. Hugs, and hang in there!
