Fanime was the second anime convention I went through too sick to enjoy. Last year's AX was the same -

If this year's AX is spent being sick...again...feh. Why don't I just park my ass at home and wait for Amazon to deliver it all to me?

Oh yeah, that's what I do the rest of the year. D'oh.

I know how long this bug is going to last. Most of next week. Mostly fatigue. So much for house stuff. If I can keep up with work and getting home, I'll be doing well.

First paycheck with the raise should be tomorrow. Mini-Christmas. Yo.

Honestly, you didn't miss much at last AX ... it was awful. Fanime was a blast though ... I really wish you weren't so sick.

I'm annoyed they're opposite BayCon next year ... technically it could be another chance to hang out with niqaeli (she was at BayCon this year) and my other friends who attend there, but that's just in poor taste to run an anime con the same weekend as BayCon IMO. Bleh.

As someone who's staffed two years of Baycon and one of Fanime, I have to agree. For me there's no contest. I'm a Baycon gal all the way. I have a sinking feeling though that many people are going to be very disappointed in the quality of Fanime next year...trust me, you really don't want to know how much of their major staff positions are held by people who also work/attend Baycon, and the support for Baycon has been almost unanimous. There isn't too much overlap in attendees, but there's a fair amount of overlap in staffers and in the end, it's the people staffing and running a convention that will make or break the whole thing.

I finally got my paycheck corrected to show my new yearly salary and damn, having that much money every WEEK is cool. yeah. I get paid WEEKLY. I love that part too.
