Did I lose control of the situation?

Missed the Cowboy Bebop movie at the Egyptian. Bought the tickets and everything.

Almost forgot totally about taking care of Sis' house over the weekend.

Forgot the ham club pool party - asked Jim to call Cedric as I am slammed with Monday morning madness.

But shit - I really wanted to go see that movie...what the fuck?!

Yes, I did go walk to Target and Stater Brothers last night after dark so I wouldn't keel over from the heat. I left about 7:30 PM and returned with a new phone that also doubles as a dynamite alarm clock/radio, some groceries and the goods for a surprise for Jim. (Yeah, he deserved one.) I checked the mileage this morning - 1.8 miles each way. I got home about 10:00 PM and keeled over less than an hour later.

All I want to do is run away from home. And forget the shit that isn't getting done. Which is mostly my shit.

But when Jim works weekends, everything goes to hell. He goes to opposite shift from me, is tired and cranky and the car becomes an issue because it has to be available for him to take to work.

Forget getting things back and forth from storage. Forget a realistic grocery run.

And now, I'm back at work and wondering what else I forgot.

Shit. This isn't good.

Well, I don't feel stupid anymore.

Was just about ready to go to lunch when a call comes in from Jim.

"Honey, I locked myself out of the house - I have no shoes, no shirt and I only have my wallet. Will you call a locksmith for me please?"

Sure. Do it yourself yellowpages.

I get a hold of Jack. He knows the address. He'll be there in 15 minutes. I try to call back, but the payphone he was at doesn't accept inbound calls. Okay, I know where he is. Yellow pages to the rescue and I'm chatting with the clerk in the mini-market -- "Big blond guy, no shirt, no shoes and likely dancing on the pavement...see him?"

Okay. Stay put, because the best is coming.

I just got the call from Jim telling me he's inside, and okay and $50 poorer.

How did he get locked out? He was playing with the dog. Well, not exactly.

He thought the dog needed a haircut.

He was using his trimmer - with the biggest setting, mind you - on my dog. My Cairn Terror.

"You shishkabobbed the dog?"

Jim also tells me that AAA will reimburse a lockout. I told him he could take care of it.

Oog. Tell me again our brains aren't fried. I dare you.
