Well, it took surgery to get to the bottom of things with the dog. An exploratory showed a deep, well-established infection in the paw - but no idea what caused it. A puncture wound, most likely - from what, who knows - but it had been there a while.

Poor little dog.

She gets put under, gets her little paw opened up and drained and is now wearing one of those dorky Elizabethan collars. That, soaks twice a day with antibiotics and painkillers every 12 hours. Yes, folks - the vets here know what I meant by having pain management on board when I left the office. She likely had been hurting for days.

That was the sum total of the day. When not taking care of her, we were horizontal. I slept all afternoon, and will likely sleep more once I finish here.

I feel terrible about the dog.

Take the Spirit Quiz and visit Castle Diqueria.

The dog is better; my hearing is still snap, crackle and pop.

This is not getting old...it IS old.

Katherine Hepburn finally finished her run here - she's earned her rest. Bon Voyage, you dear thing.
