kyburg: (wonder)
Don't gotta do nothing.
Don't gotta deal with nothing.
Don't gotta dress up.
Don't gotta be anywhere. (Except dinner, Thursday.)
Don't gotta deal with drama.
Don't have houseguests.

Just gotta show up.

This just might work.

Won't be at Animeigo this year - they don't have any needs this year and I think it's just damn peachy.

All I have to do is go. Might even be able to find some money we can spend.

Thursday for dinner, Friday whenever I want to. Like I really try to deal with their schedules. *rolls eyes*

See you there....

I finished OOP on Saturday. Yes, I did. I got the book Friday. The UK version. [livejournal.com profile] unclejimbo had gotten his hands on the American version and didn't let it out of his hands or out of his sight until he finished it himself.

Two bookmarks do not make one book into two - sorry.

However, I have the following weirdness to report:

Saturday night, NASA was also trying to launch a Mars probe.
I was also very fatigued due to suckage and laying on the couch reading, fell asleep while NASA's radio chatter was going on and I was reading Harry Potter's adventures with the Beast That Walks Upright -

So what happened?

I'm dreaming I'm at Fanime again, on radio.

Only I'm at Hogwarts, on base in McGonagall's office. The usual suspects were also on radio, [livejournal.com profile] silverkun. Og at Hogwarts. Think about it. Think about Hogwarts overrun with anime fans.

I woke quite vexed. NASA scrubbed their launch, y'see.

Don't ask how that translated. Just...don't.

I now have enough bandwidth to download video files. Big ones. Bwahahaha.

Disk space a little bit of a problem, but can be overcome.

Try to view them. I prefer Media Player, well - because. At home, I am at the mercy of Windows98. Nothing in the house is big enough to run anything newer.

Media Player chokes on them. No problem, I'll just upgrade it - add codecs, all should be fine...wait a minute.

The newest version of Media Player for Win98 requires a processor capable of over 233Mhz -

As a minimum. It prefers something over 500.

This is a Pentium Pro 200Mhz machine. To date, it has run everything I could ask for without being able to do anything graphic intensive - which would require a much bigger machine all around. And more hardware.

I have the highest version of Media Player this machine will run. And it doesn't work.

*bangs head against wall*

If anyone has any suggestions as to why an .avi file plays like a slideshow with perfect audio, let me know.

And Buddy Hackett is now gone. Aw, crap.
