Finally got to my friend Marian's house yesterday to restock her DVDs - with both she and her husband being down (Jack just had cancer surgery again, and his CHF has been a bugger to manage), she needs some diversion.

And I'm just the bitch to provide it.

Marian and I met reading Darkover books when I wasn't in high school yet. We went through Trek and Starsky & Hutch fandoms together, loved Quantum Leap - and I'm corrupting her with anime.

I haven't quite been able to part with my Trigun box set yet - but it won't be long.

She's in her 70's now - and Jack is in his 80's.

I just can't shake being worried about my own mother. Scott losing his Dad this week just cements it in.

I've got some really good leftovers from Lucille's BBQ - took the in-laws there while Jim was at work yesterday for late lunch. Onion straws as high as your eye, pulled pork sandwiches (I had the half rack of beef ribs and brought half home) - and the place just smells incredible.

And then they play plunky bluesy stuff that just made me wish bigbigtruck was there.

TIES class did one thing for me, I have to give them credit - I'm better able to identify addicts.

And behaviors one finds in addiction. Like forging bad checks, and spending a lot of time in the penal system. I think Jim's old friend, firez's and cool2alltheway's Mom has been using for a long, long time and covered it well. I think cool2alltheway is using now as well.

Went to Borders yesterday - the manga section is now huge, but the anime section has been sharply reduced in size and all they had were #7, #3 and #5 of everything. Yeah, in that order.

BIL goes home today. MIL goes home Wednesday.

Mom has surgery a week from tomorrow.

Ilost my two sons five years ago July241999 my life and my childrens has neaver been the same again after marry a man and finding out four months later when children and youth came to our home and they said they had to take my boys that they were in danger by this man i had to leave him i did everything i was to do with children and youth they went to court and lyed to the judge and i was not able to talk in these hearings at all after playing with our hearts all this time and back in october termenating my parental rights telling my oldest son that is 12 years old he would neaver live with me again in a foster home where he was being abuse i have letters wrote by himbagging me to get him out of this home Derek tried to hang himself inthis same foster home i even have pictures of marks on his little face from abuse from the foster parents and cys blamed this on me and i was not around him and then two months later i got another phone call that Derek was back in the hospital he tried to kill him self again by cutting his wrist in the mean time they had him so druged up on all kinds of medacation that it is a wonder that in it self didnot do him in my youngest is somewhere in fayette co PA they will not tell me where all i know is with a single man and this mans mother comes in the morning and gets Anthony off to school and the man is there to get him from the schoolbus in the afternoon i have terrible feelinds about this i have hired a private investigator and he has checked me out all around i have neaver hurt my children in any way i am a nurse and take care of complete strange people and neaver as much as had traffic ticket i cant understand our system i am in appeals right now and i am not giving up on Derek and Anthony they our the soul of me if you would remember us in your preys that some way someone could help us parents that done noughing wrong but we as families have been done wrong GODPLEASE BRING OUR BABIES HOME TO US AGAIN

Boy, I know kids get taken by mistake. But those kids go home, as fast as the system can turn it around - but it does take time. Lessee - my whole process has been most of this year, hasn't it?

Not as simple as good vs. bad. That, I'm certain of.

Gods. You go to a site for folks looking for support after their kids have been taken by CPS, and the majority of posts is about foster homes where kids have been killed, molested and worse - thanks a bunch. Those poor folks.

Just keep grinding that axe.
