Time when one actually got to go to bed - 12:13 this morning. When did one rise again? 6:30AM.

So if I'm a bit punchy, you got something to blame.

Why? Oh come now. Guess.

What in the world could swallow up an evening whole? Sitting at the computer, mind.

Yes, I finally did a video. Of course, it was with WinDVD Creator, because it came with the Plextor ConvertX outboard unit I got, but also because [livejournal.com profile] silverkun and [livejournal.com profile] ceolyn's wedding tape needed to be converted to something digital.

Well, I made it. I'm not entirely happy with the conversion, but it is a transfer and it wasn't a professional camera from the get-go. There is only sound on one channel, but I was able to boost the sound a bit, and brighten the picture so you can see ALL the faces.

And I stand by the assertion that it is some of the cutest videotape I've ever seen. (I've got the whole first dance, complete with bubbles, d00ds.)

It's on the way by mail - going to the post office on the way to work this morning. It's also [livejournal.com profile] project29 ship-or-die day, and that package is leaving the building too. Oh, and Jim's niece's birthday present, and the mothers Mother's Day presents from a year ago (don't ask) - *whew*

Now, I go to read my friends list. And maybe, just maybe, continue snarking over at [livejournal.com profile] animeexpo. If I have time.

(WinDVD blows, BTW. When I figure out how to simply remove pieces of tape, I'll be happy.)

First day of summer? Great - have some Christmas music.

I was making a copy of most (if not all) of my Hawaiian albums to ship off - and it caught my attention that I had a couple of tracks worthy of the title "pretty damn hard to find" - so here, have a couple:

Na Leo Pilimehana - 'Kana Kaloka Here Comes Santa Claus' - Na Leo is one of those female acoustic trios very popular over there, and since the last two trips to Hawaii have been in November, it was easy to pick up one Christmas album the last time.

Ambrosia - 'Holdin On To Yesterday' - This one I remember from my four-hour stints with Kasey Kasem's AT40 on Sunday afternoons in the summer, oh back in the day. You don't really want to know how old this is, do you? If I remember right, this is the group Atlanta used to test the acoustics at a new amphitheater they had just built - and like a lot of groups from the seventies, most of the discs haven't made it to CD pressing. I think I found this in one of the two places the cut made it to CD - both of them "collections" of various artists.

Neither of these artists have huge recording label contracts, so finding their stuff is pretty hit-or-miss. Enjoy!

For a post [livejournal.com profile] cadhla had done, oh very eary in my blogging career. I'm still looking.

But I found a gem I'd forgotten I'd written.

The day we contemplated Yaoi-Con.

Priceless.
