I keep seeing posts here looking for medical care referrals - I've got a doozy for anyone who doesn't have health insurance.

I have a co-worker who is an active member of the Jain Center in Los Angeles - http://jaincenter.net/newsite/

This weekend, they are holding their Health Fair. This is a service the members of the temple provide to the public, absolutely free of charge - I'm planning at least a Pap test, but they will also provide any other kind of screening you need. I think they are planning Mammography as well. Free. Gratis. Period. Check their site - diabetic? Need a meter? Someone has secured them for the fair - they just want to know how many they need.

These are the titled professionals who practice in Los Angeles, board-certified and so forth. This is what they do for the community at large, and they are welcoming anyone to take part. It is Sunday, March 9th and it is in Buena Park.

YOU NEED TO REGISTER TODAY BY MIDNIGHT.

I'd plan to arrive early, and bring a book.

Jains are also very strict vegans by faith - be aware and informed, and be NICE.

Things I want to keep until I get home -

To use it, I start most Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee, a stack of cookbooks, and a pad of post-it notes. I flip through my cookbooks, flagging all of the recipes I want to use for the week.

Well, we'll see. Saturday mornings usually find me trying to get Jim away from the cartoons. But I certainly have the cookbook resources....

I just work here.

Alton Brown pw0ns y'all.

A museum dedicated to play. How cool is that?

Tech out, yup - it's Verizon. Again.

Where's my cookie.
