Minor Suckage
Nov. 7th, 2005 12:46 pmWas I the only one who got to see the Pretty Pink Princess with a My Little Pony on Juniper Lee last Saturday? Pinged both
cadhla and
ceolyn and neither has cable. And me, unable to record anything off the air. (*taps chin* Do I want a TiVo for my birthday/$WINTERHOLIDAY? Nah.) Do white people scare me sometimes? Oh hell yeah. Best send-up of the Barbie culture going - we lurve Juniper Lee. (BTW, her name was Ashley, and at one point, got called Britney by accident. Dying here.)
The Amazon link is back up on the profile page. Feel free to point and giggle. That's what wish lists are for. I also have a ThinkGeek wishlist, which is much, much shorter. (Here, wanna look?)
Very pleased with myself for buying a Let's Go Australia book months ago. Need to put together a shopping list for food I have to get on Sunday after I get back, and nail down how I plan to get the table and chairs to the house for Thanksgiving - and then put that on hold for vacation. The house is as ready as it's going to be, past setting up everything.
Will be stupidly close to Papua New Guinea when on vacation. Also, found a Audubon guide to the Night Sky in cleaning up the shelves over the weekend, which includes the Southern Hemisphere. Felt really stoked until I realized it was Cliff's book, and felt like crap all over again. Including the fact I can't understand a lot of terminology used in the book. There are days, there are days....this year, I really got the message on the anniversary of his passing to "get on with my life and leave me alone" - but the regrets are incredible, particularly when I get reminded this way. Now, there are those who would argue I gave him at least ten years more than he would have had without me - but there were so many things he was passionately interesting in doing that never came to be. Oh well. And the suck part is that's all you can do. Shigata ga nai.
Taking the book - even though everything is telling me to expect rain and cloud cover.
The next three days are going to be an exercise in hurry up, finish up - and wait.
Maybe I should go eat lunch now. Lalala meatloaf....
