Matt Jeffries is gone, folks.

You know who Matt Jeffries is, don't you? He's the guy who designed the first NCC-1701 Enterprise for Star Trek. The one I loved better than any other. He's the guy the Jeffries Tubes are named for.

I hope wherever he is, the ship can really fly for him - and anything else he dreams up can come true.

And I was just looking at sailing ships offshore here this morning and dreaming of sailing aboard a tall ship myself someday....

That is sad.

The Enterprise is one of the more original starship designs and it will be an icon that will last beyond all of us.

I'm rather flattered that you like my icons -- however, I would appreciate it if you did not USE my icons. That Icon -- made by yours truely -- was for my personal IY manga set. It's my work. It was not posted for consumption and use at large, and I would appreciate it if you would kindly take it down, as you use it without permission and it IS my work.

Thank you.

I'm sorry - it's over a year old. Are you sure?

No. It's not yours. Somebody else used the same artwork you did - and it's as much a steal as your own "work."

Went back and checked. You have wonderful taste in icons.

As well.

At the very, very least...this is a base. And it's Takahashi's artwork - cut down to size from her manga. No more than that.

I find that hard to believe -- especially as I HAVE had that icon set for well over a year, using it off and on. I just find it odd -- especially that it would be so exact a copy; from leaving the stipling in the frame to the dove-gray border. So even if it wasn't taken by you, I'm fairly sure SOMEONE did somewhere.

Ah well. My annoyance still knows no bounds -- and I still consider it 'mine', Takahashi artwork or not. I still resized it, put it in a neat border, and sharpened the image. It was five minutes of work, but hey, those are five minutes I will never get back, no? Call me anal if you will.

You're anal.

Unless you drew the item in question yourself, you should really get off that horse- it's too high for you.

If that matches yours, then it's definitely my work, and I'd still really appreciate if you didn't use it. ^_^

The Two icons side by side: http://www.livejournal.com/users/seifergrrl/1669667.html?thread=2154787

There cannot be a copy so exact that it matches down to the file size and the exact pixelation. You are using my icon, my work, and I am politely requesting you remove it: Please remove the icon from your set and make your own icon. ^.^

I wonder if the original creator (as in, not you) of this art would have any gripes if someone used said art for LJ icons.

And then carped at someone who did the same.

Just wondering.

Nowhere do you mention that you drew it yourself.
