So Gray Davis is going to face a recall election. Whoo-hoo. Another 30 million dollars down the toilet.

Gee, it couldn't be because we didn't have much of a choice last election, could it? Only thing the Republicans could put forward was a convicted felon - naaah, we're not going to elect one of those, not us - but the only other option was Captain Cornflake (oh, right, that was Jerry Brown) -

Like it is going to make a whole lotta difference.

30. Million. Dollars. Like we have that in the Treasury right now.

Proof positive nobody is thinking all the way through to the end here.

By the time it's complete, it will be time for the next election anyway.

Don't forget - this is the State that sent Reagan to the White House. Nixon, too.

Davis has fucked up. But he didn't cause even half the problems we're going through now. Every state in the US is struggling; we're in a recession, dammit.

And now we're going to waste money that could pad that a little (if it were given to Fremont, where I live, we could avoid the 25% cut in fire services we're facing) in order to rush him out a little sooner. Why not wait until the next election? It's not that far away.

California has been under attack by the Republicans for a while now. There has been so much crap that the Republicans should be made to answer for...

Man... I just wish we could get rid of Bush pronto!

I'd rather see him gone than Davis.
