Though I really wish we could have found another computer. The old E-Machine is a study in just how stupid Celerons and onboard video really are. Poor Jim.

We found a 19" monitor, new in the box for less than $50. And I got a new CD burner for another $25.

That, and the farmer's market produced a pound of white nectarines and peaches, leetle green beans, a basket of small sweet onions, a bunch of beets, a bar of lovely handmade soap (Yosemite Joe scent...My Beautiful Soap was the vendor...this bar is a "manly blend of cedar, sandalwood and pine." Itsch Loverly.) and a jar of sage honey. This market is every Saturday - we'll be back. You could get full on the samples alone - mmMMmmmMMMM!

So I give the 17" monitor to the E-Machine. It chokes on it. *kicks*

Cedric was with us all morning shopping the TRW swap meet - keep in mind, this is not a computer swap - this is truly a geekmaster's "bring out your dead" swap. It's hosted by the ham radio club. Among the many, many, light-up keychains, I saw:

1 six-pack of original seltzer bottles - mercury glass and all.
1 box of 4-track tapes
1 reel tape drive for a computer rack. I think those guys were 3/4" -
1 reel-to-reel audio tape deck.
Many boxes of 5 1/4" floppies, still shrink-wrapped.
Boxes of vacuum tubes.
Lots of radios. Parts of radios.

Like turning down the fresh tomatoes at the farmers market because I did not want to take on salsa making today, I turned down the various parts and pieces and 500 Mhz (approx) machines.

Went to Lowes to get a kitchen fixture for Cedric to install; we ate lunch at the scramble area at Mitsuwa. Okonomiyaki, tempura and soba omlettes. ALL good.

Came home, sat down and got attacked by a nap.

Getting hungry. Eating fruit now.

Oh, and that E-Machine is evil enough to kick this machine off the network if it logs on first. Vile creature.

TRW holds its swap meet the last Saturday of the month.

The Torrance Farmer's market is every Saturday morning.

One has hardware; the other one has food.

E-mail me the detals if you can. I know someone who would love that market. He does HAM radio and all sorts of uber geek stuff. He's apartment is decorated in old radios and such.
